My favorite part is the classes. I like Zumba, Cycling, Yoga, Pilates and Swimming...just to name a few. Instructors and personal trainers are well qualified and helpful. It is important to ask about staff credentials when looking at new gyms because proper training promotes better results and helps prevent injuries. I also like that there are members of all ages, shapes, sizes and fitness levels. I don't feel insecure like I do walking into a gym filled with models and muscle-heads.
Yep, that's my home away from home.
There is an activity that I like to do outside the gym and that is running (well, for me, its more of a walk/jog). I absolutely hate running on a treadmill, but I have mapped out some routes around my neighborhood and enjoy getting outside.
I really want to start running more again (see my TNT page) and I have a plan. Its called The Couch to 5K Running Plan. I haven't started yet, but when I do, I will keep you updated on my progress.
My favorite running gadget is my Garmin Forerunner 305, with heart rate monitor. It pretty much does it all.
Also important are my ipod and a good pair of running shoes (from a specialty running store to ensure the right fit).
